If spring is synonymous with creativity, the discovery of new ways of looking at reality can be followed thanks to the red thread of photography, a thread that winds its way through Emilia Romagna, from Parma, with the exhibitions Atlante Sentimentale by Luca Campigotto and Visioni (im)possibili. Communication, utopia, project in the CSAC collections, to Riccione, where, besides the exhibition Robert Capa. Retrospective, still in progress, you can also visit The Ballad Tour.
Ravenna hosts In suspensum. Carlo Benvenuto, Enrico Cattaneo, Elena Modorati, and photography books are also presented in this town, while in Rimini, And please stop crying – A photographic exhibition dedicated to Giulietta Masina and Latografia by Mario Flores are on show.
Finally, Bologna. With a lot of photography in the exhibition I preferiti di Marino. Capitolo I, not forgetting the meeting on Fotografia e Linguaggi, with a focus on Cinema.
Parma
First stop: Parma. Atlante Sentimentale, held in the evocative space of Borgo delle Colonne 28, is a synthesis of Luca Campigotto’s work, drawn from a vast archive of travels, images and memories. It is the myth of the journey, of seeing the distant, the different in order to become aware of the world. To touch the geography of the earth, of places and spaces. Until 21 April.
The abbey of Valserena, near Parma, is the venue for Visioni (im)possibili. Communication, utopia, design in the CSAC collections, which, through a re-reading of the funds preserved here, highlights the link among this project, its historical reference (the Bauhaus) and the future, with a focus on visual communication at the service of society. On display are the works of famous artists and designers of those years, many of whom left an important mark on research photography, such as Mario Giacomelli or Luigi Veronesi or Franco Grignani. Ravenna
In suspensus, Carlo Benvenuto, Enrico Cattaneo, Elena Modorati is an exhibition that refers to a sense of suspension from time and space and everyday relationships, that transforms ordinary objects, which are the protagonists of the works on display. The exhibition project, with works expressed in different visual languages, revolves around still life, the relationship between photographic works and sculpture. Allusive and intriguing, they are on show at the Fondazione Sabe per l’arte in Ravenna. Until 7 April.
Also in Ravenna, but this time at the MAR – Museo d’Arte della città di Ravenna, l’Osservatorio fotografico APS, is presenting the photographic books The Heart is a Sandwich by Jason Fulford (16 March) and Moira Ricci: 20.12.53-10.08.04 (14 April).
Rimini
In Rimini, the Fellini Museum proposes And please stop crying – a photographic exhibition dedicated to Giulietta Masina, the protagonist of La strada, with which Fellini won the first of his five Oscars in 1957. A year later Fellini won his second Oscar for Le notti di Cabiria (Nights of Cabiria) Giulietta Masina still stars, in perhaps her best-loved role. In addition to the 34 shots from the Penzo and Reporters Associati / Fondazione Cineteca di Bologna archives, the exhibition includes 34 stills from the sets of Fellini’s films in which Masina starred: Luci del varietà (Variety Lights), Lo sceicco bianco The White Sheik), Il bidone, Giulietta degli spiriti (Juliet of the Spirits) and Ginger and Fred, in addition to the two mentioned above. At the Palazzo del Fulgor – Fellini Museum until 2 April.
Latography©. Nel profondo oltre la fotografia, is a solo exhibition by Mario Flores, which is part of a project of sixteen unpublished works, created during travels to places of art around the world. An unprecedented journey, carried out by working on points of view, on the elements that we capture in an instant on those that are lost. At Galleria Zamagni, Rimini, until 23 March.
Riccione
Alice Babolin, in art Aliteia, with her project The Ballad of Human Mutations, presents an unprecedented vision of fragility. She investigates the beauty, uniqueness and strength of individuals whose bodies are far from both classical and contemporary models, through the contamination of various disciplines, including photography. She does this by telling the story of the most common of hereditary neuropathies (Charcot-Marie-Tooth), which is also a rare and little-known disease, through a manifesto of non-conforming bodies, that aims to integrate new aesthetic values into contemporary society. From 12 to 19 April in Riccione at the GAMC Villa Franceschi.
Bologna
Una Rete in viaggio. Storie, idee, progetti , the programme of meetings promoted by the members of Rete Fotografia Rete Fotografia with other institutions to discover new connections takes stock of the relationship between photography and other languages. This third edition opens on 18 March at the Cineteca di Bologna with a meeting on the relationship between photography and cinema. The next stops will be in Bergamo and Turin.
Finally, I preferiti di Marino. Capitolo I. This exhibition features 40 works by modern and contemporary artists from the private collection of the entrepreneur and philanthropist Marino Golinelli and his wife Paola. On show are works by the masters of the 20th-century avant-garde, the most important artists of contemporary art and photography, such as Candida Hofer, Maurizio Galimberti and Giovanni Bortolani. At the Centro Arti e Scienze di Bologna. Until 2 June.
