We are currently the only ones left who are carrying on this tradition…unfortunately.
If there would be more, it would be better
There is, hidden among the hills of Forlì-Cesena, a few km from the perched village of Montetiffi, a little artisan workshop, the only one left that makes testo, the terracotta pan traditionally used to cook piadina.
Today we inaugurate HandMadeER, our new video-series dedicated to crafts and handmade products in Emilia-Romagna, and we start precisely from Montetiffi, from the work that Maurizio and his wife Rosella have chosen to safeguard a job that would otherwise have been abandoned and forgotten.
Today Maurizio and Rosella carry on this tradition with attention and care, producing pans, promoting their use around Italy during fairs and culinary events, but also working with schools, to introduce this profession to the new generations through specific learning paths.
