The warm season in Emilia-Romagna is marked by a variety of initiatives dedicated to greenery, including flower, garden and rural fairs.
Below is a list of the unmissable events in the region this year, in chronological order.
Rimini | Giardini d'Autore
When: 21 – 22 March 2026
Admission: with fee

On Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd March 2026, the historic centre of Rimini will once again host the spring edition of Giardini d’Autore, the botanical event dedicated to plants and gardens, for a weekend of nature and beauty.
The heart of the event, between Castel Sismondo and Piazza Malatesta, will be:
- Piazza Giardino, with collections from new and important nurseries;
- the Serra ai Palazzi dell’Arte, which will be a space for visions and encounters;
- the Corte delle Meraviglie, where design and furnishings interact with greenery;
- and the Giardini Farm Market, where food, land and tradition come together.
Piacenza | Piacenza in fiore
When: 21 – 22 March 2026
Admission: free

On Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 March 2026, the city of Piacenza will celebrate the arrival of spring with Piacenza in Fiore, the Flower Fair and Market.
Piazza Duomo, Piazza Cavalli and Piazzetta Plebiscito will be filled with colourful flower stalls and lively outdoor activities, including guided tours, bike rides, workshops and games for children.
There will also be plenty of opportunities for socialising, with street food, tastings and music.

On Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 March , Modena will be decked out in a magnificent palette of colours and scents with the arrival of the spring edition of Modena in Fiore.
Over these two days, Piazza Matteotti, Largo San Giorgio and Piazza Roma will be transformed into vibrant floral oases, showcasing a rich variety of plants and flowers from across Italy.

On Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 March 2026, in Guastalla, in the province of Reggio Emilia, an authentic spring festival will return along the banks of the River Po to celebrate outdoor life, rural traditions and biodiversity.
“Georgica. Feast of the earth, water and work in the fields“ combines an exhibition-market of ancient and rare flower and fruit plants with a market of typical and excellent organic products, with many activities for children and families.
Guastalla (RE) | Rive Rare
When: 18–19 April 2026

On Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 April 2026, the Lido Po in Guastalla will host the first edition of Rive Rare, an event dedicated to the importance of the connection between humans and the environment, featuring flower growers, artisans, workshops for children, and food and wine.

On Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 April 2026, the Castle of Roccabianca will host Ortocolto in C0rte, a festival-market dedicated to floral and horticultural biodiversity, where you can find selected botanical varieties, collections of rare plants, organic vegetables and fruits, as well as creations by artisans and artists and many agri-food products typical of local biodiversity.

In the majestic park of the Reggia di Colorno, the ducal palace of Maria Luigia of Austria, from Friday 24th to Sunday 26th April 2026, the historical fair and market dedicated to quality gardening Nel Segno del Giglio (For the sake of the Lily) is back.
Every year the best Italian exhibitors of floriculture and garden furniture, as well as small artisans and local farms, meet here.
There is also a varied program of guided tours, children’s workshops, book presentations, and meetings.
Saludecio (RN) | Saluserbe
When: 24 – 25 April 2026
Admission: free
This is an unmissable spring event for all lovers of nature, dedicated to herbal medicine, natural and organic food, alternative medicine, natural cosmetics and plants, as well as gardening in general.
There will also be plenty of entertainment on the village streets, including musical performances and street theatre.
Bellaria - Igea Marina (RN) | Spring Markets
When: 25 – 26 April 2026
Admission: free
Bellaria-Igea Marina is celebrating the arrival of spring with a festival for lovers of crafts, flowers and the region’s traditional flavours.
On 25 and 26 April, the Isola dei Platani area will be filled with stalls selling arts and crafts, plants and flowers, as well as plenty of ideas for decorating balconies and gardens. Visitors will also have the opportunity to sample the area’s specialities and enjoy a variety of typical food and wine products.
Castellarano (RE) | Borgo Plantarum
When: 25–26 April 2026 / 19–20 September 2026

In Telarolo di Castellarano, in the green hills of Reggio Emilia, Borgo Plantarum is a true feast for garden lovers.
Here, on the cobblestones between the stone houses, in the courtyard, on the lawn next to the 18th century church, some of Italy’s best nurserymen gather, chosen for the excellence of their production and the uniqueness of the plants they offer.
Cattolica (RN) | Cattolica in bloom
When: 30 April and 1 – 2 – 3 May 2026
Admission: free

In the height of spring, the town of Cattolica is transformed into a huge flower garden, rich in the intense scents and bright colours of nature.
Four days dedicated to quality products and fun, with a programme full of shows, exhibitions and cultural initiatives, competitions and many attractions for all visitors.

On Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 May 2026, the charming garden of Villa Pallavicino in Busseto will host the return of Ortocolto, a festival celebrating biodiversity in floriculture.
The event will feature a market selling selected botanical varieties and collections of rare plants, as well as organic vegetables and fruit. There will also be artisans and artists showcasing the region’s biodiversity through their work, alongside typical local food products.

Taking place in the beautiful Giardini Margherita in Bologna, just a stone’s throw from the city centre, Giardini&Terrazzi is back with two events, one in spring and one in autumn.
With over 240 exhibitors, there is a wide selection of rare plants and flowers, as well as garden furniture, quality crafts, and food and wine specialities.
Pontenure (PC)| I Frutti del Castello

On Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th May 2026, the Castle of Paderna, one of the castles of the Duchy of Parma and Piacenza, will host the new spring edition of I Frutti del Castello (The Fruits of the Castle) an exhibition of ancient fruits, flowers, plants, agricultural and handicraft products.
Here you can find flowers, plants, furniture and lots of ideas for your own garden.
Santarcangelo di Romagna (RN) | Festa dei Balconi Fioriti

In mid-May, the traditional Festa dei Balconi Fioriti (Flowered Balconies Festival) returns to Santarcangelo di Romagna, in the foothills of Rimini.
The streets and squares of the town centre, in particular the picturesque Piazza Ganganelli, are transformed into wonderful gardens thanks to the floral displays of exhibitors from all over the region.
The programme also includes shows, exhibitions, cultural initiatives, competitions and entertainment.
