Once again this year, our region confirms itself as a land of cyclists and for cyclists, with numerous bike events planned for 2025 in Emilia-Romagna.
The Giro d’Italia, the historical Granfondo, the Italian Bike Festival, off-road races…
Let’s discover together the unmissable appointments for all cycling enthusiasts.
Giro d'Italia 2025
The 108th edition of the Giro d’Italia, the most important national cycling race and one of the most prestigious in the world, returns to Emilia-Romagna with two stages in the region: Castelnovo ne’ Monti (finish of stage 11) and Modena (start of stage 12).
Stage 11 is a tough stage from halfway onwards. From Viareggio, the route climbs up the Garfagnana, passing through Barga and Castelnuovo. The riders then tackle San Pellegrino in Alpe, with gradients of up to 20%. A long, winding descent through the Apennine woods leads to Cerredolo, where the climb to Toano begins, and finally riders tackle the climb to Pietra di Bismantova, symbol of the arrival town.
Stage 12 is a bunch sprint in the heart of the Po Valley. It starts with a circuit along the roads of the Castelli Matildici, before opening up in the plains.
L'Etape Parma by Tour de France 2025
Also not to be missed is the appointment with L’Etape Parma by Tour de France, which is renewed in 2025: Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 May, two days of celebration in the heart of the Food Valley with the official Granfondo of the Tour de France.
