Custodi dell’Arte (Guardians of Art) is a tourist itinerary that unfolds in the picturesque coastal town of Cesenatico: 21 stops where 21 citizens take visitors by the hand and tell stories, memories and life experiences in their own voices, interweaving them with the city’s material and immaterial heritage.
The project, carried out by Formula Servizi on behalf of the Municipality of Cesenatico, aims to offer a new perspective on this colourful seaside town, famous for its canal port designed by Leonardi da Vinci.
The itinerary is free of charge and can be followed (individually or in groups) at any time of the day, even at night, in complete autonomy.
The stops can be identified thanks to the plaques placed at the locations of the stories: once on the spot, simply scan the QR code on each plaque with a smartphone to listen to the specific story.
In this way, urban spaces become places of encounter and exchange, capable of creating a true virtual community.
In fact, storytelling makes it possible to go beyond the mere beauty of the place, to delve into lesser-known local aspects and to offer a new, more emotional and experiential approach to tourism and culture.
For tourists, it is an opportunity to gain authentic knowledge of the area; for citizens, it is a chance to witness local values and become protagonists in the tourist development of the city.
Each story has also been translated and recorded in English and German to widen the audience.
A paper map can be requested at the main tourist and cultural points in the city, and can also be downloaded from the website.
