The warm season in Emilia-Romagna is marked by numerous initiatives dedicated to greenery, such as flower, garden and rural fairs.
Here is a list, in chronological order, of the events not to be missed in March, April and May in the region.
Rimini | Giardini d'Autore
When: 22 – 23 March 2025
Admission: with fee
On Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd March 2025, the historic centre of Rimini will host the spring edition of Giardini d’Autore, the botanical event dedicated to plants and gardens, for a weekend of nature and beauty.
The heart of the event, between Castel Sismondo and Piazza Malatesta, is
- the Piazza Giardino, where nurserymen from all over Italy will be present with their botanical collections;
- the Giardino delle Meraviglie, dedicated to craftsmen and designers with their unique handicrafts;
- the Giardini Farm Market, the Organic Market;
- the Imparare dalla Natura area, for the young gardeners of today and the future gardeners of tomorrow.
Guastalla (RE) | Georgica
When: 29 – 30 March 2025
Admission: with fee
On Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 March 2025, in Guastalla, in the province of Reggio Emilia, an authentic spring festival will return along the banks of the River Po to celebrate outdoor life, rural traditions and biodiversity.
“Georgica. Feast of the earth, water and work in the fields“ combines an exhibition-market of ancient and rare flower and fruit plants with a market of typical and excellent organic products, with many activities for children and families.
Piacenza | Piacenza in fiore
When: 29 – 30 March 2025
Admission: free
On Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 March 2025, the city of Piacenza will celebrate the arrival of spring with Piacenza in Fiore, the Flower Fair and Market.
Piazza Duomo, Piazza Cavalli and Piazzetta Plebiscito will be decorated with flower stalls and animated by open-air activities: guided tours, bike rides, workshops and games for children.
There will also be plenty of opportunities for convivial moments with street food, tastings and music.
Carpi | Carpinfiore
When: 5 – 6 April 2025
Admission: free
On Saturday the 5th and Sunday the 6th of April 2025, the traditional spring date with Carpinfiore returns to Carpi. In the large and picturesque Piazza dei Martiri, in the shadow of the Palazzo dei Pio, floriculturists from all over Italy will meet to exhibit their production of many varieties and types of plants, including rare ones.

When: 25 – 26 – 27 April 2025, 10am to 7pm

In the majestic park of the Reggia di Colorno, the ducal palace of Maria Luigia of Austria, from Thursday 25th to Sunday 28th April 2024, the historical fair and market dedicated to quality gardening Nel Segno del Giglio (In the Sign of the Lily) is back.
Every year the best Italian exhibitors of floriculture and garden furniture, as well as small artisans and local farms, meet here.
There is also a varied program of guided tours, children’s workshops, book presentations, and meetings.
Castellarano (RE) | Borgo Plantarum
When: 25 – 26 – 27 April 2025, 9am to 7pm

In Telarolo di Castellarano, in the green hills of Reggio Emilia, Borgo Plantarum is a true feast for garden lovers.
Here, on the cobblestones between the stone houses, in the courtyard, on the lawn next to the 18th century church, some of Italy’s best nurserymen gather, chosen for the excellence of their production and the uniqueness of the plants they offer.
Cattolica (RN) | Cattolica in bloom
When: 30 April and 1 – 2 – 3 – 4 May 2025
Admission: free
From 30 April to 4 May, the city of Cattolica is transformed into a huge flower garden, full of the intense perfumes and bright colours of nature.
Five days dedicated to quality products and fun, with a programme full of shows, exhibitions and cultural initiatives, competitions and many attractions for all visitors.
Busseto (PR) | Ortocolto
When: 3 – 4 May 2025
Admission: at a free offer
On Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 May 2025, the beautiful gardens of Villa Pallavicino in Busseto will host Ortocolto, a market festival of floricultural biodiversity, where you can find selected botanical varieties, collections of rare plants, organic vegetables and fruit, but also the creations of artisans and artists and many typical agri-food products of local biodiversity.
You can also take the opportunity to visit the Renata Tebaldi Museum, located in the Scuderie della Villa, with a fascinating multimedia itinerary on the heritage of Italian melodrama.

When: 3 – 4 May 2025

On Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 May 2025, the gardens of Villa Braghieri in Castel San Giovanni, on the border between the provinces of Piacenza and Pavia, will once again host Floravilla, a traditional exhibition and market dedicated to flowers, plants and unusual fruits.
There will be special areas for children with workshops and themed games, while adults can take part in guided tours inside the villa.

On Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th May 2025, the Castle of Paderna, one of the castles of the Duchy of Parma and Piacenza, will host the new spring edition of I Frutti del Castello (The Flowers of the Castle) an exhibition of ancient fruits, flowers, plants, agricultural and handicraft products.
Here you can find flowers, plants, furniture and lots of ideas for your own garden.
Santarcangelo di Romagna (RN) | Festa dei Balconi Fioriti
When: 17 – 18 May 2025, 10am to 6pm
Admission: free
On Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 May 2025, Santarcangelo di Romagna, in the foothills of Rimini, will host the traditional Balconi Fioriti (Balconies in Bloom) festival.
The streets and squares of the town centre, in particular the picturesque Piazza Ganganelli, will be transformed into beautiful gardens thanks to the floral displays of exhibitors from all over the region.
The programme also includes shows, exhibitions, cultural initiatives, competitions and entertainment.
