Da inverno a inverno, is the first event of Immagini dalle campagne dell’Emilia-Romagna, a project promoted by Regione Emilia-Romagna – Servizio Patrimonio culturale in collaboration with the Comuni of Lugo, Faenza and Bagnacavallo.

Its aim is to reflect on the rural landscape of the Region thanks to photography. Indeed, the landscape is the focus of this project, which involves the areas of the three municipalities (all of them in the Ravenna Province) that committed themselves to organise shows and events, by creating synergies aimed to valorise the landscape legacy as well as the photographic one.

Alongside the exhibition in Lugo by Paola De Pietri (curated by Silvia Ferrari and in collaboration with the Comune of Lugo and Lugo Land), there is a series of events, including photographic labs and conversations with experts, that will explore some aspects of the rural landscape issue, geography, photographic representation, territorial and social aspects.

Also Tre archivi, una campagna. Il paesaggio rurale romagnolo visto attraverso gli archivi Guerra, Nonni e Visani will soon open. It will be on at the Galleria Comunale d’Arte di Faenza since April 9th to May 8th.
The exhibition, curated by Gian Marco Magnani and Luca Nostri and in collaboration with the Fototeca Manfrediana and Lugo Land, let the landscape near Faenza to be observed from different points of view thanks to the images from three historical archives. They are the Fondo fotografico Francesco Nonni (early twentieth century), the Archivio fotografico Paolo Guerra (Lugo, from the forties and the fifties) and the Fondo fotografico Visani (Lugo) illustrating the countryside and the activities related to the rural world, since the end of the 1800s up until the 1970s.

Then it’s time for the convent of San Francesco a Bagnacavallo to host the exhibition Case sparse_dimore sparute. Una campagna tra immagine e poesia (June 2nd – July 3rd, preview on May 27th), in collaboration with the Comune and curated by the Fototec@ Comunale.
The exhibition will feature images from the documentary fund Case sparse (preserved at the Fototeca) on the variety of rural buildings in the countryside and will be accompanied by a poetry Lab.

We often enjoy suggesting, next to photo events, some photogenic places where letting the creativity run free. In this case, the destination is Lugo, where Gioacchino Rossini lived as a young man. It’s the Casa di Rossini, situated in a building that belonged to the composer’s grandfather.
Since 2020 it has been turned into a museum. The museum itinerary develops over four stanzas, four rooms, in which theatrical form has been staged to listen to and discover (and, by requesting permission, you can shoot, too) works by Rossini.
