From 21 March, three months of events to immerse yourself in the extraordinary landscapes of the Po Delta Park, a UNESCO MAB Reserve: the perfect opportunity to (re)discover the pleasure of slow travel, to be conquered by breathtaking views and unique atmospheres.
Discover the initiatives planned for Slow Spring 2025
Lush woods, green pinewoods, an astonishing variety of flora and fauna, freshwater and brackish valleys, rivers that fan out towards the Adriatic: the Po Delta is a living mosaic of nature and biodiversity, an area where water has always been the absolute protagonist.
This landscape, suspended between earth and sky, hides natural treasures of rare beauty, so unique that it has twice been declared a World Heritage Site: in 1999, together with Ferrara, the city of the Renaissance, and in 2015, as a UNESCO MaB Biosphere Reserve.
Two regional parks protect this natural wonder, which extends over more than 66,000 hectares: the Veneto Regional Park to the north of the Po, and the Emilia-Romagna Regional Park to the south, a veritable treasure trove of astonishing landscapes, where every path leads to new discoveries.
During the seasonal migrations, more than 300 species of birds choose these areas to rest and nest, making the Delta a privileged destination for birdwatchers. Equipped observatories, special routes and protected areas allow you to enjoy this experience in full respect of the environment.
But the Delta is not only nature: visiting it also means getting closer to a deep culture, made up of traditions, typical cuisine and stories of an area that, despite its geographical isolation, has managed to turn its marginality into authenticity.
The ideal time to immerse yourself in this floating world is the return of spring, when nature awakens from its winter slumber and fills the air with sounds, scents and colours.
It is at this time that the Delta Park comes alive with Primavera Slow, a calendar of initiatives that celebrate the beauty of life in the open air: guided excursions on foot, by bike, on horseback or by boat through unspoilt landscapes, history and culture.
An opportunity not to be missed to discover the six nature reserves of Emilia-Romagna: Goro, Mesola, Comacchio, Argenta, the Ravenna pine forest and the Cervia saltworks. Six stages, one great journey in the heart of a nature that still knows how to thrill.
